Short biography of Hazrat Abu Bakar (R.A.).
Introduction:
Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddiq’s (R.A.)was born in the tribe of Bani Tayyim in 573 Hijri. His real name was Abdullah, but everyone called him ‘Abu Bakr’. The name Hazrat Abu Bakar (RA) is his nickname.
After converting to Islam he was given the titles ‘Siddiq’ and ‘Ateeq’. ‘Siddiq’ means truthful, faithful. In the history of the Islamic world, he gained the social status of ‘Siddiq-e Akbar’ i.e. the greatest truthful. His father’s name is Usman Ibn Amer. And the nickname is Abu Kohafa. He was known in society as Abu Kehafa. His mother’s name was Salma, and she was called Ummul Khair. On the parental side, Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddiq’s (R.A.) family is connected with the family of Hazrat Rasulullah (S.A.).

Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddiq’s (R.A.) was brought up with great affection. Because Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddiq’s (R.A.) was the most beloved child of his parents. Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddiq’s (R.A.) was possessed of knowledge from his childhood and his intelligence continued to increase as he matured.
He was in business with his father from childhood till 20 years and later he took over the entire business himself.
Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddiq’s (R.A.) had fair complexion, medium body, thin build; He looked very weak. He didn’t have much flesh on his face. The forehead was broad and the eyes were slightly slanted. He used henna in between the hairs of his head.
From the time of his father, Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddiq’s (R.A.) had family status and social respect. The Quraysh used to take the advice of Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddiq’s (R.A.) in all kinds of social matters. If someone behaved unfairly to someone, then the responsibility of his judgment was given to him. He used to judge correctly with his own knowledge and judgment. Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddiq’s (R.A.) was a famous rich man of Makkah. Not only was he winning the hearts of all with his character and personality, but his wealth and wealth raised his honor and status to a higher place.
First of all, Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddique (R.A.) used to trade in food crops. Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddique (RA.) started doing business abroad since childhood. He started the cloth business at the age of 18. He was amassing a lot of wealth by doing business. Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddiq’s (R.A.) had many herds of goats, sheep and camels. Several times he went to Shamdesh and Syria along with Hazrat Rasulullah (SAW.) to trade.
Even after becoming the caliph of the Islamic Empire, he was involved in this business. For this business, he had to go to Syria, Basra and Yemen many times. He was earning huge amount of money by doing business with utmost honesty, but he never enjoyed all that money himself. He was spending all his accumulated wealth for the benefit of the poor, distressed and downtrodden people. Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddiq’s (R.A.) had a heart as soft as a flower, he was a big hearted man, a demon. Before accepting Islam, he bought and freed many slaves from their tyrannical masters.
Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddique (RA.) loved to live a very quiet life. He did not like worldly advancement and status at all. His character was very good. Because of this, his character good air became famous all over the city of Makkah. Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddique (RA) used to live a very simple life like a poor man. He did not do anything against the Holy Qur’an till his death.
His greatest characteristic was piety. If he mistakenly believed that an evil deed had been done, he would not rest until he had one of his vows.
Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (R.A.) once got angry for some reason and was speaking harshly to Hazrat Umar Farooq (R.A.). Immediately he felt ashamed and brought Hazrat Umar Farooq (RA) close to him and asked for his forgiveness.
Life of Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (RA) before accepting Islam Hazrat Abu Bakr (RA) was well versed in poetry recitation, genealogy and animal medicine. His name Yash spread throughout the Quraish clan for many qualities. So all Quraysh respected and respected him very much. All Quraysh believed in him. For this, Quraysh used to deposit money and wealth with him. And in that period in Arabia was full of injustice, lawlessness and wickedness.
Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (RA) was one of them. Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddiq’s (R.A.) had a sincere hatred for the shamelessness, cheekiness, drinking, abuse of those times.
He was so trusted by the Quraish that in his presence the Quraish did not think of trusting anyone but him.
Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddique (R.A.) preached Islam:
After Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddique (R.A.) embraced Islam, he started spreading Islam among his friends. Abu Bakar Siddique (R.A.) discussed the subject of Islam with his close friend Hazrat Usman Ghani (R.A.). Hazrat Uthman (R.A.) was full of conscience even under the condition of being an idolater. He meditated on the holy words of his friend Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (R.A.) and after understanding the essence of Islam, he became attracted towards Islam. After some time he accepted Islam in the presence of Hazrat Muhammad (SA.).
In fact, Hazrat Abu Bakar (R.A.) was a man with a very big heart and a very gentle personality. Because of this, many people became interested in Islam after being inspired by his words and recitation of the Qur’an and accepted Islam.
The incident of getting the title of Siddique:
Ten years after the prophethood of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), Almighty Allah took his peer Habib before him through Jibreel (a.s.) to meet and speak with him directly on the 27th of Rajab. It was the Holy Meraj of Hazrat Muhammad (SA.).
Hazrat Muhammad (SA.)came back from Meraj and finished the Fajr prayer of that day. Many could not believe the words of the Prophet. Companion began to think that he is possible when?
After hearing this incident, companions and infidels also had immense faith in Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
But at that time Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddique (RA.) was not present there. Some Companions came to the house of Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddique (RA.) and told Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddique (RA.) about the incident of Meraj.
Hazrat Abu Bakar Siddique (RA.) came to the Kaaba with his companions without delay. Hazrat Muhammad (SA.) asked O Rasulullah (SA.) did you really say this to the Companions?
Hazrat Muhammad (SA.) replied, “Of course I said that.”
Then Hazrat Abu Bakr (R.A.) without asking him a second time, immediately said
“Chadakta ya Rasulullah” (S.A.)!
What you said today is absolutely true. There is no doubt about it. Then Hazrat Muhammad (SA.) said to Abu Bakar (R.A.), ‘Anta Siddiqun’ means that you are Siddiq or truthful. Since then, Hazrat Abu Bakr’s title name is “Siddiq”.
Hazrat Abu Bakar (RA) Khaliphate period and his death:
After the death of Hazrat Muhammad (SA.), he served as the first Caliph of Islam for only 27 months or a little more than two years. During his caliphate he faced some instability. But he copes with it with his shrewd judgment. During his caliphate several battles were fought which were won by brave soldiers. After becoming caliph he gave up his cloth business on the advice of others and accepted allowances from the state treasury.
Hatat became physically ill on August 22 and his illness gradually increased. He is unable to get out of bed. In such a situation, Abu Bakar Siddique (R.A.) felt the need to appoint a successor so that no form of strife would arise among the Muslims after his death. So it was decided in consultation with other Companions that the next Caliph would be Umar Ibnul Khattab.
Later, he died on August 23, 634 at the age of 61. He was buried next to the grave of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) in the house of Aisha (RA).
