The sound of chirping birds indicates morning and evening, spring or winter. Stories, poems, and literature have been written about the birds of Bangladesh. In Bangladesh, we see many kinds of birds. The most common of them are the crow, the cuckoo, the pigeon, the hawk, the sparrow, the kite, the heron, and the parrot.
The crow is the most common bird in Bangladesh. It is seen everywhere, from sunrise to sunset. It is an ugly bird. Its voice is very harsh. The pigeon is a pretty small bird. It is very fond of home. Its flesh makes a soft and palatable dish. The cuckoo is a bird of passage. It comes in spring and flies away in winter. Everybody likes it for its sweet voice. The parrot is beautiful to look at. It is a talking bird. It can imitate the voice of others and utter whatever it is taught. The shalik is also a talking bird. It can speak when tamed. The hawk is a bird of prey. It hawks upon fish in the river. It has keen eyes and sharp nails.
We should not be unkind to birds. Most of them are quite harmless.
