The accident occurred in front of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. I was going through the road by a rickshaw. Rumana, a student of Dhaka Medical College, was crossing the road. Suddenly, a truck with great speed was coming through the road. When Rumana saw the truck a few feet away, she got puzzled and ran backward. The driver tried desperately to hold the brake but failed. The truck ran over Rumana. Many people gathered there. I got down from the rickshaw and saw Rumana lying dead. It was a terrible sight. I was greatly shocked at the sudden demise of the young girl. I saw an orange and her college bag on her side.

There was blood flowing on the street. I could not bear watching the scene. I closed my eyes. Afterward, I came back home. All the drivers do not follow the traffic rules. Overtaking tendency is also responsible for street accidents.
