A bus stand is the stopping place for the buses. The passengers get into buses and get down from the buses at a bus stand. A bus station is the center of busy activities. At some bus stops, there are sheds for the temporary shelter of the passengers. But most of the bus stops do not have sheds.

There are small shops at the bus stop. The hawkers sell betel leaf, bread, chanachur, and cigarettes. Sometimes, seasonal fruits are sold in a bus stand. In some bus stands, there are book stalls and restaurants. It is a crowded place. When a bus comes from a distance, the station becomes very busy. Shouts of the helpers and conductors of the buses are heard continuously. Passengers wait here for the buses to go to their destination. After all, a bus stand is a useful place.
